The system
You have a special interest in testing the stability of a polymer product while it is exposed to heat. The last IR700 METRASTAT heat stability testing oven is now being replaced by our brand new METRASTAT 800 Testing Oven. This brand new product has been presented on last year’s K’2010 fair in Dusseldorf, as well as it’s more evolved version, the METRASTAT 905 Heat Loss Compensation Testing Oven with integrated HCL absorption hood. The also new Fluoscan reflectometer and software then analyzes the results of the oven.

- 905 HLC Testing Oven
- Fluoscan Reflectometer
- Fluoscan Software
The two testing ovens METRASTAT 800 and 905 are the ideal for you:
- to control the quality of your raw materials (powders, pellets)
and finished products (pipe, profile, sheets and coatings)
by enabling you to compare the progressive degradation of several test samples simultaneously - to optimize your batch formulations
by making it possible to evaluate quantitatively the performance of stabilizers, lubricants and other additives that may affect the quality of a product when exposed to heat. - to improve your manufacturing processes by allowing a visualisation of major parameters such as the fusion profile of resins, the gelling time of plastisols or the efficiency of blowing agents in foamed compounds
The FLUOSCAN principle for taking the guessing out of heat stability testing:
One-foot long test samples, of different composition, are slowly pulled out of an oven set at constant temperature.
The progressive discoloration and fluorescence resulting from the degradation of each sample over time are then evaluated by comparing the samples, visually or instrumentally with the Reflectometer and Fluoscan application software we developed last year. This instrument will scan the samples and the data imported into the software will give you ΔE, Yellowness Index, L*a*b* curves, etc. in a report form or as single exportable images and data.
